Story Line - When an evil demon by the name of Garlic Jr. tries to take over the world and get revenge on his fathers arch enemy Kami, he uses the help of the Dragonballs to wish for immortality. However, Garlic Jr. made the mistake of kidnapping Goku's newly born son Gohan (who had a Dragon Ball), and is forced to face the unlikely alliance of Goku and Piccolo.

Brief Reviews:
1. Despite below-average music and parts of the story that just don't make sense (such as Garlic's men trying to kill Piccolo even though they wanted to collect the dragon balls), this movie was decent. There were humurous scenes and the fight sequences weren't that bad.

2. Although the plot is pretty basic, not as creative as some of the newer movies, it's an OK movie. Another issue is that the film is only about thirty-five minutes long and as such feels like an episode much more than the movie it is supposed to be. The music is your basic and typical DBZ score and probably the only redeeming part of the film. The replay value is extremely low. There is action in the film but nothing that you haven't seen in a regular episodes before - in fact the violence is even a bit toned down from the normal episodes.

3. The animation in this movie, while not as good as the actual regular DBZ episodes, was still outstanding. Their were some great animated scenes, one of my favorites was after Gohan ate the Hallucinogenic fruit, and started to see all those different creatures. That was pretty good the way that looked. The dialogue was pretty decent, although nowhere near as good as some of the worst DBZ TV Episodes. There were just to many grunts and moans to make it all that good. The voices for Garlic Jr. and his henchmen were pretty good, but that was just about the only shining part of the entire dialogue. The Eternal Dragon's voice was as usual, excellent, but not as Good as other times he has been summoned. However, the music was great, a nice change from some other DBZ movies that I have watched. The music, was in fact, one of the best parts of the entire movie. It just went so great with the scenes, matching the intensity, the drama, and the happiness at each twist and turn in the movie.

4. This is probably the funniest Dragon ball z movie, I loved the part when Gohan ate that apple and started to see things and act funny. The voices soung a bit different but are still decent. The animation is very clear and well-drawn, too.

5. this is an awesome movie! The plot is very good and is sort of a prequel to the DBZ series itself. If you see this movie it will definetly make certain parts of the Dragonball Z easier to understand. It has a great musical score and great animation. I think this is my favorite movie so far...

Story Line - To regain his youth, an ancient Namek by the name of Lord Slug comes to Earth to gather the seven Dragon Balls. In addition, Slug attempts to take over the Earth, which has turned into a frozen wasteland upon Slugs arrival. Goku is no match for this ancient namek but will a new transformation unleash to help him win?

Timeline:
Although it is hard to place, I feel that this flick fell in the same time period (referring to character strengths) as the Ginyu Saga. This is because Gohan and Krillin are pretty strong and Piccolo is also quite strong, obviously in league with higher class Freeza forces. Goku showed an edge over all other fighters, and only used normal Kaioken, reflecting the same use thereof in the Ginyu saga, where he used Kaioken to show his “True Power.”

Summary:
The Movie starts off with a huge Comet heading for Earth, seemingly about to destroy it. The world is in panic and only 2 men can save them! Goku and…Krillin? They confront the Meteor as it enters the atmosphere and fire a huge Kamehameha Wave into it having little or no effect. The Meteor, for some reason, is actually deterred and skims out of the atmosphere, but screws up the little blue sphere pretty good. When all is said and done, Gohan, Chi Chi, and Bulma find a small spaceship in a nearby, unnamed city. Several space fighters come out, declaring that the planet is now under the rule of ‘Lord Slug’. At this point, Gohan attacks these new fighters for a while but finds himself retreating after Lord Slug himself enters the scene and takes Gohans Dragon balls. The story turns to Lord Slug using a device to “Terra Freeze” the planet so it’s inhabitable for his servants, whom are adapted only to the cold and die in the Earth’s heat. Slug also has his high-ranking henchmen gather the Earth’s Dragon balls. This is because Slug is very old and dying, and wishes to return back to youth. He gathers the balls after very little time and summons the Dragon, regaining his youth and great power.

This is when the battling starts. Gohan leaves his house in Piccolo’s custom battle outfit and leaves to confront the Aliens once again. Much like before, he makes short work of the low level foot soldiers, and Piccolo even joins in on the fight. 3 fighters come out to confront Gohan and Piccolo. A large, orange warrior by the name of Doradabo (Romanji spelling) does combat with Piccolo and is defeated by having his head blasted off after some time of Piccolo toying with him, including breaking his arm before killing him. A very pathetic battle. Gohan, on the other hand, fights Metamoncha who starts the battle by pummeling Gohan with Chi blasts and then follows up by spawning Four mini’s of himself, which absorb Gohan’s Chi. Piccolo tries to beat him and the last fighter, Angira but ends up being caught up in heavy fire when protecting Gohan, leaving both battered and beaten.

Goku shows up and saves the 2 and quickly disposes of Slugs fighters. Lord Slug himself comes to fight Goku, but Krillin takes a shot at Slug first, and is defeated in one punch. What ensues is among the greatest one vs. one butt kickings of DBZ Movie history. Slug just beats the crap out of Goku for nearly 10 minutes, never letting Goku get a solid his in. Finally, Goku stands battered, bleeding, bruised, and seemingly drained of Chi. Slug goes for the final punch but meets Goku’s palm, stopping Slug dead in his tracks. Goku looks up and flares a bright, Golden Aura about himself, seemingly a Super Saiyan. He beats up Slug even worse than Slug beat him until Slug finds himself with a broken arm. Shockingly, Slug rips the arm off and regenerates it. He then removes his helmet to reveal that he is a Namek. After which, he uses Piccolo’s old trick and increase his size to that of a skyscraper. For a while, he plays around with Goku until he is in the grasp of defeat. In the last moments, Piccolo distracts Slug and tells Gohan to whistle. Apparently, whistling frequencies harm Namekian ears and because Slug is so huge, he is affected even more so. Slug is forced to the ground and Piccolo reaches out to Goku, giving him the last of his Chi. Slug blasts at Gohan, knocking him away and ending the whistling. Slug gets up to hear the voice of Goku “Kaioken!” and Goku charges through Slug, goring him through the stomach. After this, Goku rises above the clouds and absorbs energy from the sun, creating a Spirit Bomb. Slug charges at Goku just in time to get hit in the face and knocked into the Terra Freeze machine, destroying it and bringing Earth back to warmth.

The movie ends with a normal cheesy scene involving Senzu Beans and laughter.

Review:
All and all the fighting in this movie isn’t half bad, and the false Super Saiyan is actually pretty cool. The story is mediocre and totally rips off King Piccolo to no end, not to mention the victory is unoriginal and very unsatisfying. This movie is only worth buying if you get it in a box set with Coolers Revenge and Return of Cooler.

Final Note: The music rocks in the dub.

Score: 4/10

Story Line - When Cooler hears of his brother Frieza's death he seeks revenge on Goku and all of planet Earth for it. The Z-Warriors prove to weak to defeat this new villian, and it once again relies on Goku to save the day. Unknown to Goku, Cooler's been holding back.

Timeline:
This is a confusing one. The story can't take place during the Freeza Saga because Goku is back on Earth and Freeza is dead, however, it can't be during or after the Trunks Saga because Gohan still has short hair (he didn't during the Trunks Saga) and Goku doesn't know instant transmission. In my conclusion, their powers must be based on that of the Freeza Saga because it suits that more so than the Trunks Saga.

Summary:
"Freeza! I'm coming for you, you self serving murderous traitor!" shouts Bardock, father of Goku, in the opening black screen. This is followed by showing the entire flashback of the destruction of Planet Vegeta, including all of Bardocks actions, in particular. Afterwards, it goes to the insides of another, nearby spaceship. 3 Unknown warriors discuss whether or not to intercept an escaping Saiyan Pod with a baby inside, known as Kakarot. The apparent leader of the 3 decides on doing so but is overruled by another figure that they quickly bow to. He says Freeza should clean up his own mess, and has got a lot to learn."Brother".

Next we go to Kame house and Goku. Goku is training while Master Roshi watches, astounding the old man with every move. In between this scene and the next we go to a mysterious Planet in which the man who referred to Freeza as "Brother" is sitting atop a throne, and one of his men tells him that Freeza has been killed by a Saiyan from Earth, and they immediately leave. That scene is cut short with Gohan studying, but finding Ikiris bugging him from outside his window. He tells him to go away but Chi Chi walks in to offer Gohan some Tea. She yells at the Dragon and finds herself surprised when Goku shouts in agreement, telling the Dragon to let Gohan finish his Homework. Chi Chi becomes very concerned about this and thinks Goku has brain damage. She tries to tackle him but falls past and into the dinner table. Goku tells Gohan to finish his homework later so they can get going already. Soon enough Gohan, Goku, Krillin, and Oolong are making stew over a camp fire. Goku leaves to find some fish, and catches one about 13 feet tall, considering it small and just right for making Sushi.

Gohan chops some firewood in an impressive manner and starts to bring some but stops, noticing movement in the shadows.suddenly, him and Krillin are assaulted by the warriors seen on the mysterious planet just earlier. Goku shows up and does battle with the Warriors, breaking fairly even without using any level of Kaioken. They stop and Goku sees a figure approaching in the water. He looks back and thinks its Freeza, but before he can say anything, Gohan yells that he'll help out while hovering in the sky. Cooler, brother of Freeza, shoots a death beam from his eyes which Goku barely manages to stop by taking it in the back, heavily injuring himself. He falls into the water and down a waterfall, but not before launching a counter blast at Cooler. Cooler deflects it and flies over the Waterfall, blasting at where he thinks Goku might be. He knows Goku has escaped and tells his men to find him.

Gohan helps his father into a Cave to rest as Coolers Armored Squadron bombard the area with Chi Blasts. Eventually one hits the top of the cave and closes them in. Some time later, Kuririn and Oolong help them out. Gohan leaves for Korin's tower upon Ikiris's back for get some Senzu Beans. Upon arriving, Gohan starts halfway up the Tower and quickly climbs up the rest of the way. When he asks Korin for Senzu's, Korin asks Gohan what exactly he gets out of it. Gohan starts to leave to get a "gift" but Yajirobe tosses Gohan a bag of Senzu's. Korin yells for a moment but tries to eat another Senzu, but Yajirobe takes it and gives it to Gohan as well. Gohan sticks the extra in his belt and leaves, landing on top of Ikiris.

As they reach the Area where Goku is resting, Gohan gives Ikiris a Senzu Bean because the Dragon is exhausted. Ikiris pumps up and takes off incredibly fast, but appears on Scouters. Soon enough, Gohan looks up to see Coolers Armored Squadron watching him from above. Salza, the head of the 3, shoots Gohan off of Ikiris and Doore grabs Gohan, starting to crush Gohan's Skull in order to get the Senzu Beans. Suddenly Doore is struck in the back by a Beam. The Camera pans back to show Piccolo hovering behind Doore. Doore rushes for Piccolo only to punch through his cape. Piccolo reappears above Doore and elbows him in the top of the head, denting his helmet in and plummeting him into the ground. Naize and Salza attack Piccolo together as Gohan flies to get to Goku. Doore gets up and tries to catch Gohan. Piccolo fires a beam which Naize dodges, suddenly realizing he was aiming for Doore. Doore attempts to stop the blast but is quickly incinerated, showing Piccolo has a big power advantage. Naize gets angry and charges purple Chi around his hands and fires it at Piccolo, seemingly trapping him within, continuing to fry his body. Salza flies to stop Gohan, thinking Naize has won. Naize approaches Piccolo boasting victory, but suddenly Piccolo grins, grabs Naize, transfers the Purple Chi, and fries Naize into a crisp instantly, killing him. Piccolo fires 2 beams at Salza which he deflects, suddenly finding a physical assault from Piccolo. The battle quickly shows Salza to be much weaker, so he retreats into some woods, trying to use a energy blade attack to cut Piccolo, but it does not work. As they battle above the woods, Cooler interrupts the battle and blasts Piccolo through the chest with a Death Beam, crippling the Namek.

Gohan arrives at the cave Goku is laying in with Krillin by his side. As he hands the Senzu bag to Krillin a beam shoots through it, burning all the beans to a crisp. Salza laughs, commenting how close they were. Krillin gets angry and attacks Salza, they fight in the air for a short while, Salza easily winning. In this time, Gohan remembers the extra Senzu bean in his belt and gives it to Goku. Just as Krillin is KO'd, Gohan gets mad and also attacks Salza, but is knocked aside and crippled in a couple hits. As Salza laughs, he starts for the cave but is stopped when he realizes a huge Chi is rising inside. His Scouter explodes and he looks up again to see Goku standing in front of him.

Before Salza and Goku get far in conversation, Cooler stops them, hovering above and holding an unconscious Piccolo. Goku tells him to put Piccolo down, calling him Freeza. Salza laughs and tells him its Freeza's brother, Cooler. Coolers drops Piccolo a few feet and blasts him, launching his body a few hundred yards away, thought to be dead, though he really isn't. Goku gets mad and powers up, the aura alone launches Salza into a Cliffside, knocking him out. Goku appears to have powered up to Kaioken x10, much like he did against Freeza, because neither time does he exhibit a red Aura. After a little more Banter, Goku attacks Cooler. They battle in the air, Goku showing a enthusiastic advantage. Soon they go underwater and fight, Cooler seems to take more of an advantage here but it isn't long before they rise from the water again. Cooler stands in front of a Waterfall and laughs, stating he has one more transformation than his brother. Goku is shocked as Cooler doubles his height, increases his muscle mass, and changes his head shape from one similar to Freeza's to more along the lines of Shredder (From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). With that, Cooler attacks Goku and knocks him around with a rag doll, moving so fast that Goku can't even trace his movements. Goku powers up to Kaioken x20 and keeps fighting but loses just as bad, and after a while he is so badly beaten he collapses to the ground as Cooler laughs, shaking the area by powering up. Goku starts thinking about Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin, and how its his fault they got caught in this.

A Small bird lands by Goku's hands and dies before him. Goku picks up the bird in his hands, stands up, and lets out a roaring scream for a moment. His hand reaches to the sky, glows for a moment, and bird is revived, and flies into the distance. The camera pans onto Goku's face, showing he has once again become a Super Saiyan. Cooler raises his hand to attack Goku but finds his hand restrained by Goku, who instantly appeared behind Cooler. Cooler manages to free his hand after a short struggle and punches Goku in the stomach. Goku does not budge at all. Cooler floats back in fear, saying some agonizing comments at Goku. Goku powers up, knocking Cooler back. He flies forth and punches Cooler in the face and finishes off with a Knee to the gut. Cooler holds his stomach for a moment then begins to chuckle. He launches a huge Chi wave at Goku, unphashing him. When the smoke clears, Goku looks up to see a huge Death Ball formed at Coolers fingertip. He laughs and says he can gather Chi much faster than his brother, and throws the ball at Goku. Goku tries to catch the huge thing but is pushed into the land. He struggles for about a minute, and seems to have lost as the ball sinks into the Earth, but suddenly it is pushed back and Goku fires a Kamehameha into the ball, pushing it onto Cooler and pushing Cooler into the sun. In his last breathe of life, Cooler realizes that Goku was the baby in the space pod that he had let go when Freeza blew up the Saiyan home world, and then Cooler is engulfed the Suns flames and is incinerated.

The next scene shows Krillin and Gohan helping Goku up. As they joke around and have the normal post-battle touching moment, Salza rises from some rubble and laughs at the warriors, saying he is going to kill them. A Special Beam Cannon comes from an unknown distance and impales Salza's pelvis, killing him. Gohan yells for Mister Piccolo. Some distance away, the Namek sips some water and looks up at the sun, the credits role.

Review:
The Story, the Music, the Animation, the Fighting, all are top notch. If not for a minor plot discrepancy, this movie would be perfect.

Story Line - When New Namek begins to be attacked by a robot looking star, Dende calls once again for Goku and the Z-Fighter's help. When they arrive, it appears Cooler has survived, and is now attacking the new version of the planet his brother was defeated on. Goku and Vegeta have trouble fighting this new stronger Meta Cooler, but how well will they stand against a thousand of them?

Timeline:
This is right before the Android Saga, easily enough. The Plot holes to this are Dende being Earth's Guardian already and Picoolo seeming to be fused with Kami, according to the Dub.

Summary:
We start off with a Scene showing the Planet of New Namek. It sits for a moment before a huge, moon-sized, figure floats up and grows around the planet, seemingly eating it. Next we see Dende, asking Goku to save the Nameks.

We see opening sequence to the Movie.

Goku, Gohan, Oolong, Krillin, Yajirobe, and Master Roshi are all in a Capsule Corp. Spaceship enjoying some fine dining (Rice Cakes) chatting about. Piccolo is in the next room, meditating. The cast are in shock when they see Planet Namek how it is, commenting that the "Little one is eating the big one!".

The Nameks are being marched by tall robots in handcuffs. One Namek struggles and breaks free, attempting to attack one of the Robots. He is knocked back and the Robot fires a blast to finish off the Namek. Gohan swoops in and knocks the blast away. All of the Fighters show up and confront the Robot army. After some time, a mysterious and strange metallic figure marches forth.its Cooler! Now he has been reborn as Meta Cooler, which is explained later. Goku and Cooler go off to fight somewhere while Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin do battle with Cooler's "Phsyclopian Guards". At first, they are incapable of harming the big robots because they have such thick armor, but Piccolo quickly figures out that focusing all of their energy into a single punch would be able to take out the machines (Creative?). With that, they do lots of "focused" dive style attacks and make short work of the Robots, but eventually Gohan and Krillin are overcome and taken away to the source of Cooler's Power, the Big Gete Star. Master Roshi, Oolong, and Yajirobe are taken as well.

We go to Goku and Cooler, who are doing battle. In the Japanese Version, Cooler comments that Goku's strength has significantly increased. As they fight, Cooler demonstrates a significant advantage over Goku, even at Kaioken x20. Eventually, Cooler attempts to hit Goku with the same type of attack he tried to destroy Earth with in "Coolers Revenge". After the smoke clears, Goku is shown behind Cooler, having used Instant Transmission. Cooler comments that it is also one of his favorite techniques and uses it to punch Goku unexpectedly. After this, they have a really cool battle in "Instant Transmission" world, which is like a counter dimension to the normal world. After a while, Cooler knocks Goku into the normal world and throws him into the air. He dashes after him to Knee him in the gut but Goku catches Coolers knee with both hands. He struggles and grunts for a moment and then transforms into a Super Saiyan. Cooler backs off and observes the Saiyan for a moment, commenting that he wanted to finish the Saiyan like this anyway.

We go back to Piccolo who had just been subject to a huge barrage of cannon blasts from Coolers Guards, which had been his distraction from saving Krillin and Gohan. He screams, "Are you Finished?!", powers up, and destroys the entire area with a wide spread body blast, bring all the robots down with it. Afterwards, he flies towards the Big Gete star.

Super Saiyan Goku charges Cooler, and they fist fight for a moment, Goku is knocked back but recovers and goes into an all out charge for Cooler, dashing through him and ripping his entire arm and some of his torso right off. After a Moment, Cooler regenerates the damage and states that he has become stronger because of the Big Gete star correcting the error that allowed the damage. After that, they fight again and Cooler absolutely dominates Goku. After a beating, he gets Goku into a stranglehold and begins to squeeze the life from his body, but at the last moment Vegeta comes from behind and kicks Cooler in the neck, propelling his body a few feet. Goku falls to the ground and looks up. Vegeta stands for a moment then transforms into a Super Saiyan and attacks Cooler. Cooler quickly makes dirt out of the Super Saiyan like Goku but then Goku cuts in and saves Vegeta. The Fight goes on a bit with the Super Saiyans losing.badly. Eventually, they decide to attack Cooler together. They charge him in sync and manage to blow most of his body apart, then they turn around and blast him until there is nothing left. Both Saiyans fall to the ground and revert from Super Saiyan. They lay for a moment and chit chat but then look up at a cliff a few hundred yards in front of them and see thousands of Meta Coolers lining it. Coolers 2 nd from voice from Movie 5 can be heard talking, saying that the Big Gete star can correct any flaw, even if it's the fact that he has one body. The Coolers slide down the cliff and begin to charge the Saiyans. As they approach, the Saiyans stand and powerup to Super Saiyan together, crossing energies and creating a huge explosion.

We immediately go to a Scene of the Super Saiyans hooked up to a bunch of suspending wires in the Big Gete Star. A weird head can be scene suspended in front of them hooked up to some machinery, which appears to be the last remnant of Cooler. The Tyrant explains how after he was launched into the sun, the little matter that was left was assimilated by a sentient computer chip that was taking in matter to propegate itself into existence. Cooler explains that he came to Namek to extract resources and energy, and then comments that he plans to "Extract" his revenge. The wires hooked up to the Super Saiyans start draining their energy rapidly and painfully. The entire Big Gete Star can be scene increasing its operations speed. In the Japanese Version, Cooler comments that now he can create an army of Metal Super Saiyans. The Wires stop absorbing Energy and the Saiyans Slump over, looking to be totally drained. Cooler comments that it was just right, and that any more energy would have been dangerous. Suddenly, a wire flickers and a wall explodes. Goku and Vegeta start to give more energy and the Big Gete star starts to overload. The Wires detach but the Super Saiyans grab hold and keep giving energy. Eventually, the entire Star starts to overload and everything starts shutting down, with random things exploding.

Gohan, Piccolo, and the others are running to leave the Star and see Goku and Vegeta getting launched from the dark room where Cooler resides. They land on the other side of a bridge from the others and Gohan shouts for his father. Suddenly, the Chasm below the bridge explodes with Fire and Piccolo grabs the others to leave. Goku stands up and taunts Cooler who is behind him. Cooler laughs and a ton of wires form around him to form a strange, makeshift body. Goku powers to Super Saiyan and creates a small Golden Energy Ball. As he tries to throw it, Cooler slams his bulky wire fist into Goku and knocks him down, grabbing him with a bunch of wires and begins to constrict his body, ripping his skin open in various places. Just as hope seems lost, Vegeta throws a Keinzan (Energy Disk) through Coolers arm and frees Goku. Goku throws the Energy ball into Coolers "Chest" and Cooler explodes into a million directions, along with the entire Big Gete Star.

We go to Gohan and Piccolo on the surface, watching the Big Gete Star explode in space. They watch and Gohan lets out a happy cry, seeing Goku and Vegeta falling to the surface. He holds his hands up just as they fall past him and crash into the ground, creating a huge crater and a very awkward scene. Yajirobe gives them beans and Goku stands with his friends, thanking the departed Vegeta.

The last scene is Vegeta in his little space pod, crushing the original computer chip that assimilated Cooler.

Review:
Not nearly as good as Movie 5. The story is rather cheesy, unrealistic, and the way that they destroyed the Guards was.dumb. Of course, the fighting was very entertaining and provided some unique idea's not thought up by Akira Toriyama. Kudos to the Animators as well. The Music, though synthesized, is quite fitting and entertaining to the ears.

Score: 6/10

Story Line - After Gero's death and the destruction of his androids 17 and 18, his computer sets out three new Androids; All stronger than the ones before, and all with a strong hatred for Goku, the three Super Saiyans seem to be to much for these new Androids, but could a new type of fusion turn this fight in the Androids favor?

Timeline:
This would fit in between and Android Saga and Imperfect Cell Saga, in which there is the plot hole of the fact the Goku is healthy and Cell isn't.around. Its unconcluded as to whether or not Piccolo had fused with Kami in the movie.

Summary:
The Beginning is a flashback to the Scene in Doctor Gero's Lab where Android Twenty opens the pods containing numbers Seventeen and Eighteen. Seventeen has punctured Twenties upper torso and kicks his head off, leaping over the crushing the head of Android Twenty. This portion doesn't show any other scenes or events from the Anime beyond this. Next, the blood of Twenty drips through a crack in the floor and into an underground laboratory with a gigantic computer with 3 Pods numbered '13', '14', & '15'.

Next we have the typical opening Dragonball Sequence.

What appears to be North City comes into view, slowly coming in to Trunks, Master Roshi, Krillin, and Oolong standing in line for some sort of event. Apparently, it's a beauty pageant with girls from all over the world. Ironically, the Dub version of this has Mater Roshi referencing girls from specific countries, yet the Dragonball Universe doesn't have any of the same continents or countries as us.go figure. Anyway, very little is accomplished in this scene other than comic relief. At the end, Trunks says, "I wish I could have gone with Goku.shopping couldn't possibly be this bad, could it?" So, immediately, we go to Goku and Gohan, who are holding a ton of Shopping boxes and bags. Chi Chi is shown fighting with several other women at a counter of some sort. Again, not much happens here except a couple chuckles.

2 Men walk into the City. A Large Native American with purple skin, a long, singly pony tail, and big brown gloves. And a short man who could be made to resemble a black man, who also has purple skin, wearing a large green hat and a long purple jacket, I guess his theme was 'Pimp'. As they walk along the streets, they create chaos just in their movements, as they walk across streets regardless of traffic and lightly shoot down police vehicles. They enter a building and take an elevator shaft up several floors.and meet the elevator on the way, blowing a hole in it to get through and out the door.

Goku, Gohan, and Chi Chi are at one table in a restaurant enjoying a large meal. Trunks and his group are at another table. More comedy scenes occur and then, through the glass floor, the 2 men from before appear. They charge up a huge green Ki blast and blow up the upper half of the building, or should I say, most of the building. The present Z Fighters rescue all the people inside (how convenient) and set them down. The 2 men attack Goku and it isn't long before Goku figures out who they really are; Androids. Soon, Goku is on the run through the city, attempting to avoid these monsters when Trunks shows up to help. The Androids show that they are stronger than these Base level Saiyans but not much is done before Goku and Trunks lead them out of the city and to a desolate snowy region.

Once there, they battle again for a short time before yet another Android shows up. The first 2, he states, are Androids Fourteen and Fifteen. Fourteen is the tall, Native American and Fifteen is the short one. Goku is challenged by Thirteen and fights him, leaving Trunks to battle the other two. Goku fights pretty poorly against Thirteen, unable to keep up with the Androids speed and power. Trunks does suprisingly well against them, showing quite some skill and stamina. This goes on for a time until Goku finds himself cornered and about to be destroyed, but Vegeta intervenes and deters the great bomb of Thirteen. Vegeta claims he only came to ensure that those pieces of junkyard trash don't take away his right of killing Kakarot. With that, Vegeta and Fifteen lock horns in battle.

Now, we have 3 battles going at once-
-Thirteen vs. Goku
-Fourteen vs. Trunks
-Fifteen vs. Vegeta

The Androids all show an upper hand against their opponents for some time, until Trunks powers up a familiar golden aura and transforms into a Super Saiyan! Both Vegeta and Goku soon follow this example, powering up their heightened peaks of power. Thirteen and Goku begin exchanging a huge barrage of Ki blasts back and forth, illuminating the sky. Gohan fires a Masenko into Thirteen's back from a distance to try and help, as him and Krillin have been hiding in the background for some time. Thirteen throws a blast back at the Saiyan Child who is saved by Piccolo, which happens in pretty much every movie that contains both characters. Piccolo comes to Goku's aid and throws Thirteen down. Vegeta and Trunks, at about the same time, destroy Fourteen and Fifteen, leaving only piles of scrap.

Thirteen rises into the air again, but finds himself surrounded by 4 eager warriors. The Android knows he has few options, but a smirk comes across his face, the Z Fighters watch as Thirteen takes in the Main CPU chips of the other 2 Androids along with the Power Cells. Thirteen transforms into a huge, red haired, beast of an Android. Vegeta attacks Super 13 only to be driven into the ground, knocking the Saiyan Prince out cold. Trunks tries to save his father but finds a blast to the face before he can even touch Thirteen. Piccolo attacks Thirteen after this and is also tossed aside, and now Goku comes. Goku doesn't even flinch the Android and is beaten up for about 4 straight minutes, knocked through the ground, through a canyon, and finally out into the water.

Gohan and Krillin try to slow the Android down, and get it pretty easy in terms of beating. Krillin is knocked aside in one blow. Now, Goku rises from the water and begins gathering energy for the Spirit Bomb. Thirteen gets ready to fire upon Goku again but finds himself cut off by Vegeta, who attacks him again. Vegeta, soon enough, is about to have his spine snapped as Thirteen bends him backward of his knee. Trunks interrupts this with a blast to Thirteens back, who drops Vegeta. Trunks attacks Thirteen with his sword, which he breaks on the Androids arm. Once again, Thirteen KO's the Saiyan and gets ready to fire on Goku, but Piccolo dashes up from behind and lifts the huge Android up, bending him back so the blast misses. Thirteen elbows Piccolo and knocks him the ground, mashing his foot into his face. In the Japanese text, Piccolo shouts, "Goku! Show him the power of a Super Saiyan!" and after that, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan, carrying a huge Spirit Bomb as he rises into the sky. Krillin makes a comment, in the Japanese version it is "No, Goku, you can't create a Genki Dama as a Super Saiyan, you can't have a malicious heart." but in the American version. well, he contradicts that, which is a question of Funimations ability to translate effectively.

Goku begins absorbing the Spirit Bomb into himself, taking in all the great Spirit Energy as he rises. Once this is done, he expands his Ki and totally covers the area in golden energy. The Snow, Ice, everything melts. Thirteen attempts to attack Goku but can't even touch him without his hand crumbling before him. Goku lets a scream out and punches straight through Thirteen, and the Android is soon incinerated by the heat.

The Screen goes black and what we see next is Gohan waking up on an ice cap, who looks up to see his father. We see a hospital where most everyone is being treated.a few funny comments are said, as usual, and the movie ends.

But, the movie ends with a bang. Vegeta and Piccolo are sitting back to back on a tiny ice cap, and the following conversation occurs.

Piccolo: "Is it over?"
Vegeta: "Not til' the fish jumps!"

A fish jumps up and flops against the water.

Vegeta: "Its over."

Review:
-This is a pretty good movie. Its full of action, comedy, and spirit. You can almost feel Goku's power when he finishes Thirteen off once and for all. This is among the best of the DBZ Movies.

American Release – August 26, 2003 on Home video
Run Time – 70 Minutes

Preface – Like all “Movies” created by Toei Animation, this movie is not made to fit in the story line of Dragonball Z. This Feature was produced, originally, for an Anime Arts Festival, in which the Viewers may not have been Dragonball Z fans previously. As such, these were made to entertain fans and non-fans alike. Also, the Anime may have been at different episode points in different regions, so it had to be made not to ruin potential plot points. Things were kept somewhat vague because of this, when it comes to surrounding events. Again, I stress that the creators did not intend for it to be looked at as an actual event in the story, but more along the lines of an animated Fan Fiction.

Opening - A Galaxy is seen…and is destroyed! Kaio-sama quivers in fear as he watches this event unfold from his world, and for-tells that soon, even his Northern Galaxy will be destroyed!

Opening Music & Movie Title

Summary - While Son Goku & Chichi are being interviewed to get Gohan into a good school, the Dragon Team is off enjoying a Flower Viewing party. Suddenly a massive spaceship descends from the sky and lands nearby. Vegeta is soon approached by a group of soldiers and a man. This man reveals himself as a Saiyan, his name being “Paragus”. He reveals that he has established a new Saiyan home world and requests Vegeta come to reign as King, but first he must defeat “The Legendary Super Saiyan”. Vegeta accepts and soon they take off. Kame-Sen’Nin, Gohan, Oolong, Kuririn, and Trunks end up going as well.

At the same time, Goku has been summoned by Kaio-sama and leaves, smack dab in the middle of his meeting, using Teleportation. Kaio-sama tells him of a Super Saiyan that has been wreaking havoc upon the Southern Galaxy (apparently, the showing of it’s destruction earlier was for dramatic effect, and only a portion of the Galaxy is under attack.). Soon, Goku leaves and begins searching worlds where he has sensed this “Super Saiyans” Ki.

Soon, Paragus, Vegeta, and the others arrive upon “New Planet Vegeta”. Paragus talks to Vegeta, saying his ultimate desire has been to rebuild Planet Vegeta to repay Vegeta’s father. Upon arriving at the “Palace” they are greeted by a small army of various Aliens, who have gathered to serve the new King Vegeta. Paragus also introduces Vegeta to Broli, Paragus’ son. Immediately after, they are notified that the Super Saiyan is attacking Planet “Totokama”. Despite Trunks’ objection, Vegeta leaves immediately, taking Broli with him.

Trunks, Kuririn, and Gohan decide to fly around the planet for a bit, and discuss their suspicions of the situation so far. They also notice how ruined the planets “cities” are. Before long, they find some energy mines in which small aliens are performing forced labor at the hand of the Saiyans military servants. A slave tells them about how they are hardly fed and work for hours on end. As he is trying to pick up a large piece of machinery, the slave is assaulted and whipped by an overseer, who accuses him of “goofing off”. Gohan is distraught and knocks the soldier down, who immediately whistles for another dozen soldiers. Kuririn demonstrates one of his punches and, for some unknown reason, all of the soldiers run away. Kuririn continues to demonstrate his “amazing powers” but as he throws a punch, Goku teleports right into the spot and takes one right in the cheek. Goku falls onto his butt, but before they can talk much, Paragus shows up and invites “the child of Burdock” and his friends to supper. Goku is overjoyed.

After a short scene in the dining hall, Trunks, Kuririn, and Gohan are shown having taken food to the slaves. Else-ware, Paragus seems to be chanting something about “Comet Gumori”. A nearby soldier shows great concern, but Paragus assures him he won’t have to experience the Comet’s terror. The Soldier agrees, saying he will continue to serve with all his might after they relocate to Earth. Paragus tells him not to misunderstand and kills him.

Vegeta and Broli return. The Saiyan Prince is frustrated, as they could not find form nor shadow of the Super Saiyan. Paragus tries to reassure him, as they walk by Goku, who is sitting on a ledge in the hallway. After some typical banter between Goku and Vegeta, Broli notices Goku and immediately seems to be upset. Up to this point, Broli had spoken but one single line and displayed no emotion. Him and Goku stare each other down and Broli’s Ki seems to flare a bit, but Paragus holds out a device on his hand and tells his son to calm down. After a moment or two, Broli returns to his emotionless demeanor and leaves with Paragus.

Paragus is sitting in chair with several devices hooked to his hand. An Octopus looking scientist approaches, holding a long sheet of paper and the device Paragus was using to try and calm Broli. The scientist tells him he can remove the machines and Paragus does so, casting it to the ground. A power surge knocks the device from the Scientist’s hand, who soon tells Paragus that the device is fine, and that Paragus should have no trouble controlling Broli’s power. Paragus leaves without a word.

As he leaves, Paragus begins reminiscing about Broli. We see images of Broli destroying cities and civilizations throughout various stages of his life, and see him gouge out Paragus’ eye for trying to stop him. Then, we see Paragus attach the device to Broli’s forehead while he sleeps, which keeps him under control and allows Paragus to release and contain his son's Ki at will. Paragus then looks back on Broli’s infancy. We are shown Kakarrot and Broli as infants, who were born on the same day. It is revealed the Broli was born with a power rating of 10,000, whereas Goku’s was 2. Kakarrot, in all his crying and whining, upsets the infant Broli. To the present, Broli has a deep rooted anger triggered by Kakarrot because of this.

At this point, Broli, who had been resting in a chair in his private room, grows furious and changes into some kind of Super Saiyan, but with dark purple hair (An apparent side effect of having his Ki restrained...). Goku and the others are sleeping, but are suddenly awoken by Broli charging into the room and trying to kill Kakarrot. Goku dashes from the window and is chased. He parries and dodges Broli’s attacks but is unable to slow him down in the least. Goku knocks a blast back into Broli, whom is thrown into a lake. Broli begins to augment his Ki even further, and attacks again. Goku lands a solid kick into Broli’s face, but does no damage. Then, Broli begins to power up more and Goku suddenly feels as though it was the same Ki he felt when chasing the Legendary Super Saiyan. Paragus shows up and tries to stop Broli, and after few moments, succeeds.

The next morning, we see Vegeta readying to leave the planet again, in search of the Legendary Super Saiyan. Paragus protests persistently, telling him he must wait until they know where he is. Of course, he is really trying to ensure Vegeta is on the planet when the Comet Gumori hits. At this point, Goku comes forth from the space ship and tells Vegeta he doesn’t need to leave, because the Super Saiyan is right there, and is actually Broli. Paragus laughs and says the Broli is even weaker than himself. Trunks flies in and begins to tell Vegeta about the slaves and fake cities built to deceive Vegeta into thinking it was an actual civilization. Also, Gohan and Kuririn show up with all the slave workers who came from a planet Broli attacked, and one of them points at Broli, saying he was the one who devastated their world.

Paragus lies no longer and explains that it was all a lie to eliminate Vegeta and the other Saiyans without damaging the planet he’s really after – Earth. Paragus mocks Vegeta for falling for this trick, and says that they will soon dominate all of the Galaxies with Earth as their palace. Suddenly, Broli steps forth, powers into Super Saiyan, and marches towards Kakarrot. Vegeta also turns Super and attacks Broli with a kick to the neck, which doesn’t even garner a flinch. As Broli steps, he keeps chanting “Kakarrot” to himself. Upon Broli's approach, Goku jumps back and shouts back “I ain’t Kakarrot! I am Son Goku!”. Paragus laughs and tells Broli to kill them all. Vegeta launches a large Ki blast upon Broli, and this too does nothing.

As the smoke clears, Broli stops and suddenly loses any and all control, and begins screaming and powering up like never before. The planet begins to tremble as his body glows a fluorescent green. Paragus tries to slow him down, but Broli grows even more enraged. As the sky darkens the lightning strikes all about, Broli’s Ki seems to settle momentarily. Suddenly, all at once, his body and Ki explode! Broli increases in size dramatically. He now stands near 7 feet and resembles the size of Trunks when he fought Cell. Vegeta falls to the ground and pants in a trembling fea

"Kakarrot, you will be the first blood sacrifice!” Broli charges at Gohan and Goku and both try only to run for their lives. Vegeta lays on his knees and simply repeats, over and over “T-The legendary Super Saiyan…!”. Paragus explains that now his plans are ruined, since Broli has destroyed the device on his forehead allowing Paragus to control him (which happened when his body expanded.). He will ravage the entire universe until nothing is left. Goku and Gohan continue to run for their lives, who continues to assault them time and time again

Now, Paragus explains that he actually hated King Vegeta and that, upon learning of Broli’s infant power, ordered both Paragus and Broli to be killed and cast into a dump. Soon after, as they lie together near dead, Freeza blows up the planet Vegeta and, using his “Legendary” power, Broli saves them both, taking them to another planet through all the destruction

Broli continues his rampage, blowing up a mine full of slave workers. Broli threatens to destroy the planet if they don’t try to fight back, and with that, Goku, Gohan, and Trunks (who finally shows up) all burst into Super Saiyan. Vegeta tells them they can’t win. Broli charges them down and the 3 warriors find themselves helpless very quickly, despite their best efforts

After a slight interlude involving Kame-Sen’nin, Kuririn, and the slaves (who eventually end up leaving the planet.) the battle rages on. Goku tells Gohan to run for his life, and tries to stop Broli on his own. He is soon knocked aside and Broli assaults Gohan. Even when they come back for more, Trunks and Goku are disabled easily. All 3 warriors are effectively unable to fight anymore, and Broli suddenly feels as though his Ki is swelling too fast and outlets a ton of it in the form of hailing Ki blasts upon the world, along with the spaceship they would have left the planet with. Broli then decides it is time to kill Goku’s son. He launches a Ki blast but it is repelled by the latest arrival on the scene – Piccolo. The Namekian quickly supplies the 3 downed warriors with Senzu and the battle begins again. Also, the comet is shown coming very close to the planet. The others leave on Piccolo’s spaceship

Altogether, the 4 warriors go against Broli. Nothing effects him, like before, and Piccolo is thrown back to the area where Vegeta is looking on in fear. Piccolo picks the Saiyan up by the hair and tells him he is a coward that is a disgrace to the Saiyan race, and being defeated means the end of universe. Once again, Vegeta returns to sulking. Broli’s assault continues, and even takes a point blank Kamehameha from Goku like it is nothing.

The Saiyan Prince suddenly gains the will to fight, seeing Goku giving it all so boldly. Vegeta assaults the monstrous Saiyan and lands more hits than anyone else had yet, but still does no damage. Soon enough, Broli lands some especially crippling blows to the Prince and leaves him in the dirt. Paragus is shown entering a single man pod to leave Broli to die by the comets hands – calling him useless for being out of his control Broli, however, suddenly shows up and crushes Paragus within the pod, and tosses the remains into the Comet as it approaches the planet.

Now only one warrior is still standing – Son Goku, (what a surprise) and begins a one man last stand against the Monster of a Saiyan. Piccolo suddenly demands everyone to give their Ki to Goku, so that he can deliver a blow strong enough to kill Broli. The next 10 minutes or so is just Goku getting beat up by Broli while, one by one, each warrior gives their Ki to Goku (from a distance) all the while trying to convince Vegeta to give his, but he refuses time and time again, calling Kakarrot a low-class warrior who doesn’t deserve the help. Finally, Vegeta contributes and Goku suddenly manages to stop Broli’s fist. His body is overflowing with Ki and the final showdown begins. Each warrior throws a punch with all their power, and Goku lands one in Broli’s stomach that seems to rip him open. With his Ki now dis-stabilized, Broli explodes and somehow, Goku manages to grab all the warriors and teleport to Piccolo’s spaceship right as the Comet wipes out the planet.

Next, we see Goku and Gohan arrive at home and Chichi chew Goku out. Son makes a sarcastic remake tying into the beginning of the movie and Chichi passes out. Credits roll

Personal Review - The first half of the movie has more plot development than any other of the Dragonball Z movies pre-ceeding it (in my opinion), and shows a lot of promise. Just as you think it is going to turn out great, we hear Broli’s first scream, and all that plot build up suddenly vanished. When he buffed out and the fighting started, my heart sank. The fighting in this movie is even more mediocre than your usual “Punch, miss, repeat” scenes you see in a lot of Non-canon side-stories. The Dragon Team just gets beat on for a half hour, and then in the worst attempt at a climax ever, Goku gathers all his allies Ki into him and finishes Broli in one punch. No other movie is this lacking in creativity when it comes to ending. I also can’t figure out why people like Broli. He is the ultimate stereotype of what people think Dragonball Z is – Big buff guys screaming and hitting each other. What is this, pro-wrestling

I give this flick a Arushinchu (“Two Star Ball” or “2 out of 7.”)

Dub Rating
- I don't particularly care for the music chosen, but the Voice acting is pretty solid. There are a couple totally screwed up lines, as usual, but not an abnormal amount by any meansI'd give the FUNI Dub of this flick a 7 out of 10. (Note that this is a rating of the quality of the dub compared to the original, and not a re-rating of the actual movie.

Special Thanks to Funimation for releasing the DVD uncut with Full Japanese Audio Track and Steven J. Simmons for his fantastic Subtitle work

Dragonball Z – Movie 9: The Galaxy at its Threshold!! A Phenomenally Awesome Guy

Dub Title: Bojack Unbound
Original Release – July 10th, 1993

Preface – Like all “Movies” created by Toei Animation, this movie is not made to fit in the story line of Dragon balls Z. Please note that this is a summary of the Japanese version, subtitled by Funimations own Steven J. Simmons.

Opening - As a reporter narrarates, 4 "Space Warriors" from the 4 Galaxies are shown descending from a space craft. It seems an incredible "Tenka'ichi Grand Budokai" is going to be held by the richest man in the world - "Mr. Gyosan Money". He explains it's for his sons 10th birthday, and that the greatest of Earthlings will be battling the greatest of Aliens The Producer explains that there are no restraints as to who can enter, that the winner will recieve 100 Million Zeni, the runner-ups will recieve a tour packages for the entire family to the hot springs resorts of the world, and that the winner will also get to battle the victor of the Cell Game - Mister Satan! Kaio-sama views the unfolding events on his television with incredible (crappy) reception. The great hero of the Cell Game flies in on Helicopter for an incredible entrance.

Opening Music & Movie Title

Summary - And now the Tenka'ichi Grand Budokai begins! As we are shown various scenes of people battling, the announcer explains...
- There are 8 Battle Platforms with 25 Contestants each, making a total of 200 entrants.
- It is a battle royale in which the last fighter standing from each platform earns the right to advance.
- One loses by falling off the platform and into the sea (The platforms are pretty high up, too.), surrendering, or getting knocked out.
- Killing is forbidden, as are weapons.

And amongst all the chaos we come upon a battle platform in which Kuririn is dominating the many fighters and feeling pretty confident in himself. Of course, he suddenly notices Chichi in the stands cheering her Gohan on, which can only mean one thing. His heart sinks even further as he finds that Piccolo and Trunks have also entered. Chichi and Bulma have a little dialogue in the stands - Chichi explains that Gohan studies all the time and deserves to relax once in a while. Bulma is hoping to get the Hot Springs tour as a chance to spend some time with Trunks who is back from having defeated his timelines #17 & #18. She also notes that since Goku died, Vegeta's had little to no will to traifight, and hasn't come to enter the Budokai.

Chaozu cheers Tenshinhan, whilst Oolong nonchalantly does the same for Kuririn. Muten-Roshi, of course, is hard at work hounding the most attractive young ladies he can find. Now we see Kaio-sama and Goku watching from the Afterlife. Goku comments that a battle between Trunks and Gohan will be awesome. Through an unfortunate series of coincidence, Yamcha (whom was sulking about all the other Dragon Team fighters being there) is knocked into the water and disqualified. Next, we see Gohan, Trunks, Kuririn, Piccolo, and Tenshinhan win their respective battle platforms (they were all separate.) and all the while Mr. Satan is having a panic attack, remembering that these were the guys that beat Cell. 3 one shot characters also proceed, and the Tournament matchups are as follows -

Some guy vs. Son Gohan
Tenshinhan vs. Trunks
Piccolo vs. Kuririn
Some guy vs. Some guy

In another one of those famous "You're just a puny kid!" scenes, Gohan beats his opponent with ease, who happens to be...10 times his size. And now, we see Trunks and Tenshinhan face off. This is quite an interesting match, and it lasts for a couple minutes, but then Trunks turns Super Saiyan. Guess the result.

Mister Satan calmly excuses himself from his seat, where he was watching with Gyosan Money, his son, and the Producer. Posing that he has a stomache, he decides he has to leave the island immediatly. Of course, he walks right out into a crowd and the cheering begins, along with his amazing ability to bask in it.

Kuririn is now going to fight Piccolo. After one missed attack, Piccolo is so dissapointed in the Tournament that he simply leaves, giving the match to Kuririn. I guess luck was on his side. And next we see Kaio-sama updating Goku on the state of the Budokai, while Son-kun plays a game of cards with Bubbles...and loses. Mister Satan, now sneaking about the sewer system of the island, finally finds a suitable exit. As he dashes for his freedom, the Producer cuts into his way and stops him. Satan insists but suddenly finds the Island is moving and that he can no longer leave. They are on their way to "Battle Island II". I should emphasize that "Battle Island I" was pretty big. It would compare to a Pro-Football Stadium in overall capacity. "Battle Island II" makes this look like nothing. Whilst it is on an actual island, the center has a Dome shaped complex easily 10 times as big as Battle Island I.

The 4 finalists are gathered in the center of a huge stadium, and the announcer explains the new setup for the new island -
- There are 4 tunnels leading to 4 different Battle Zones.
- Each contestant rides in a little spaceship type thing into their respective tunnels, where they will each battle a "Galactic Warrior."
- Whoever defeats their opponent first and returns to the stadium wins and battles Mister Satan.

Kuririn likes this setup because he now has a chance to defeat Gohan without actually fighting him. They now deploy, in little rocket ships, to get to their Battle Zones. Once they enter the tunnels, they appear to witness an elaborate holograph sequence beforethey eventually land in their Zones.

Gohan lands in an area full of gigantic kids toys and strange things of that sort. Kuririn lands in a Volcano. Trunks lands in a flowery meadow. The other guy, who is a huge sumo wrestler, lands in a desert. The diversity of the environments explains the size of the Battle Island, but we come to find out later that each "Zone" is separated by fairly thin walls. This isn't shown for some time, but we also find out that there are some other environments that they just accidenly end up in. So bear with me and the constant change of environments...

Kuririn finds his challenger, and it's a tall, beautiful, long haired woman with lime green skin. Kuririn rather enjoys this aspect, but suddenly finds her assault to be deadly and is quickly incapacitated. Dosukoi (the Sumo guy) treads the desert slowly but is suddenly assaulted by a blue skinned, well built, orange haired man who strangles the poor guy to death with one hand. It is at this point everyone kind of realizes that these aren't the Galactic fighters they were supposed to face and the entire Stadium begins to panic. Yamcha and Tenshinhan notice the panic from the Cafe', as does Kaio-sama from the afterlife. The Producer explains to Mr. Money that the fighters were supposed to be Mister Satans pupils, but these clearly are not. As they navigate the crowd, Ten-san and Yamcha see the display screen the shows the dead fighters hand sticking out of the sand. They take to the air and enter rockets like the competitors took earlier to reach the Battle Zones.

As Trunks walks about the flowers, he is suddenly shot at by a large Ki blast. He leaps out of the way and asks the opponent if he has any idea that it's a game. The warrior who launched the blast sits casually in a tree. He too has blue skin and orange hair, but is lankier than the fighter who killed Dosukoi. He attacks Trunks and they engage in battle
For a time they match pretty evenly, and Trunks' opponent even draws out a sword, though it influences the battle little. Eventually they run out into ankle deep water and the Galactic Warrior flares up his Ki and becomes much larger in size, along with his skin turning light green and his hair red.

Gohan sits among the toys peacefully, rather entranced by the setting, but it is suddenly interrupted as all of the toys begin to get launched at him from all angles. After dodging about, another "Galactic Warrior" drops from the ceiling. This one is very short in stature and wears a turban on (her?) head, and also has blue skin. After throwing some more objects, she changes the environment with a gesture, to reveal it was actually a forest.

As the Producer pounds on the door, Mister Satan sits on a toilet hoping to stall long enough for the Dragon Team to kill the evil Galactic fighters. Trunks continues his fight with the Alien Swordsman but finds himself losing pretty badly at the powered up version of his opponent. Just as Trunks is about to get his head sliced off, he bursts into Super Saiyan and stops the blade with his arm. After a moment of tension, he breaks the sword & throws a punch straight through the Alien fighter, killing him. Just as Trunks thinks he can relax, another, very tall fighter appears and knocks him out with a single kick, though we only see his shadow. We suddenly see Vegeta sit up in his bed, who was lounging back in West City. It appears as though he sensed an interesting Ki.
Gohan feels the same thing Vegeta did, calling it an incredible Ki (both seemed to be hinting at the fighter who assaulted and incapacitated Trunks). After much more yelling, Mister Satan finally decides to go face these opponents. Kaio-sama explains to Goku that a these fighters are servants of an incredible evil warrior - Bojack. Bojack once travelled about all 4 Galaxies trying to destroy them, but was sealed up on a planet far away when all for Kaio's teamed up. Bojack was released because Kaio-sama was killed in the battle with Cell, and now has his sights set on Earth. Goku reassures Kaio-sama that Earth will be fine because of Gohan.

Gohan, being chased by his opponent, is now in some kind of a ruined castle setting. He finds Kuririn and Trunks stacked on each other unconscious. Suddenly, he is approached by Bojack and all the "Galactic Warriors" from each Battle Zone, except for the one Trunks killed. Bojack is very tall, and like his servants, has blue skin and long, orange hair, topped off with a bandana. He is very large in build and even compares to Broli. The servant whom killed Dosukoi is named Bido,, whilst the psychic who attacked Gohan is Bujin. And according to the FUNImation DVD's profile section, the beautiful warrior who assaulted Kuririn is named "Zangya", but her name is never spoken in the movie, nor is the one who fought Trunks before.

Suddenly, Yamcha and Ten-san leap from their rockets as they zoom by and drop down next to Gohan. Bujin declares that Earth now belongs to Bojack-sama. Gohan calls this ridiculous and Bido replies by saying that Bojack is invincible throughout the Galaxy. Zangya says that Earth is the greatest of the Northern Galaxies planets and that Bojack is most deserving to rule over it. Yamcha and Tenshinhan attack the team of fighters but are near instantly cast aside like nothings. As Gohan stands, surrounded by these warriors, he tells them they'll pay for this and turns Super Saiyan. All of the fighters go at Gohan but he is able to fight back pretty effectively. They eventually break through a wall and end up in a ruined city - where the rest of the fighting will take place.

Gohan continues to fight, but finds taking on 3 warriors at once can be very, very difficult, and is soon suffers a very large Ki blast from Bido. Trunks is shown begining to come to consciousness...and Gohan is laid into by tons of small Ki blasts by the 3 fighters, and soon finds himself unable to maintain the state of Super Saiyan any longer. Finally taking part in the fight, Bojack casts a huge ball of Ki upon Gohan. Just as it's about to kill the young fighter, a Makankosappo lays into the side of it and deflects it. Piccolo has returned, taking an interest in this new battle. The Namekian attacks Bojack head on but finds the direct approach to be quite ineffective. Though his struggle is valiant, Piccolo is soon unable to fight any longer.

Just as Bojack goes to finish off the Namekian, Trunks jumps in the way seeking some payback. He fires a barrage of Ki blasts upon Bojack, who forms a Force Field to protect himself. Just as he goes to follow through with a direct assault, Trunks is suddenly stopped by some invisible telekinetic force. After a moment, we can see what looks like "Purple Threads of Ki" wrapped about his body, which drain his Ki the more he struggles, according to Bujin, who is the caster of this spell. Just as Trunks is about to be finished, his sword comes flying through the air and cuts the threads, and the ground below Bujin and Bido explodes. Trunks catches his blade and sheath (which were shown lying next to Vegeta back in west city before) and puts them on. Vegeta, brimming gold, rises from where the ground had just exploded and says he will take care of this fight.

Vegeta and Bojack lock horns...and match eevenly! But Bojack seems to uncork his Ki and bit and starts knocking Vegeta around. After Vegeta can hold Super Saiyan no longer, Bojack releases his full Ki and undergoes a similar change to the warrior Trunks fought before - His shirt disintegrates and his skin turns green, and his hair red. Trunks tries to fight off Zangya and Bujin but is once again entrapped in Telekinesis. Gohan rushes back into battle to save Vegeta, but is stopped by Bido. All the while, Mister Satan is departing to stop this evil once and for all!

Bojack hits Trunks with a large blast and knocks him out...leaving Gohan alone to face these warriors once again. As Gohan fights pretty well against Bojack (though he clearly isn't giving his full effort...) he suddenly gets trapped in the same Telekinesis that stopped Trunks time and time again. While he is trapped and no longer Super Saiyan, Bojack starts to beat the boy down sadistically. Suddenly, Mister Satan's rocket arrives! As he bounces about uncontrollably, he manages to interrupt Bujin's focus and thus let Gohan free. Bojack blows up the rocket and things continue along. Gohan tries one last time to defeat these evil warriors...and as Goku looks on, Gohan gets trapped in a bear hug with Bojack, in which the sounds of Gohans spine crunching can be heard.

Gohan screams and cries out for his father as his life slips away...and no longer can he bear it. Goku gets furious and suddenly performs Teleportation. In an instant, Bojack recieves an incredible blow to the cheek from a seemingly invisible force, and then the falling Gohan is encompassed by a Golden Light. He see's his father speaking to him..."Gohan! Show him your true power! Stop acting like some pampered baby! You have to protect the Earth!"

And just like that...Goku is gone and Gohan is lying on the ground with his eyes open, repeating the word "Father...". Bojack gets up from his rough fall and asks what that was. Gohan gets to his feet, with his back to Bojack and the others. He declares that his father saved him and bursts into Super Saiyan. And then, immediatly after, he powers up again and undergoes something we haven't seen yet in this movie.

Super Saiyan Two Son Gohan.

And as the smoke clears, Gohan twists around and faces Bojack - "And he said, you weren't going to get away with this...! He told me to protect the Earth!". And with that, Gohan unleashes his Ki fully and the entire island trembles before it. All kinds of crazy things start to happen to the weather and lightning rains upon the Battle Island. And finally, Bojack begins to feel a little bit worried. Gohan slowly walks towards them, as lightning courses all over his body. Bujin and Bido try to stop Gohan using Telekinesis, but it doesn't even faze him and he keeps on walking...but then he stops, and with a shout of Kiai the fighters are thrown back. Through the smoke, they try to come back at Gohan but are suddenly...dismembered.

Zangya is just a little bit horrified and starts to back away as Gohan approaches quickly. Bojack grabs the last of his servants and pushes her forward, throwing a Ki blast straight through her body and thus at Gohan. He easily dodges, but Bojack prepares another, much larger blast. Gohan takes it head on and acts as though nothing happened. Bojack gets pissed and charges at Gohan, but the Saiyan instead thrusts his fist straight through Bojack, much like Trunks had done earlier. The evil warrior is utterly frustrated and confused, and backs away from Gohan...but then prepares his last assault on the warrior, forming 2 Ki balls in each hand.

"And then...and then...he told me to stop acting like some pampered baby!" Gohan cups his hands and blue Ki begins to form in them. Both him and Bojack fire and then charge at eachother whilst the blasts collide...and Gohan destroys Bojack once and for all.

Personal Review - I really, really, really like this movie. The story takes a lot of previous elements from Dragonball and remixes them very well, the fights are very well done and interesting. The bad guy premise holds more creativity than most of the others (I'm talking to you, Movie 7). The ending is outstanding. They portray Ssj2 Gohan even better than the Anime did, and almost as well as the Manga. Truly fantastic, this movie won't leave a bad taste in your mouth, and the music is amazing. And of all the movies, it is the only one that has a chance of fitting into the storyline (though you better not assume it does)

I give this flick a (“Six Star Ball” or “7 out of 7.”)

Dub Rating - I'll start off by giving praise to Sonny Strait and Eric Vale. Both of them deliver outstanding performances as Krillin and Trunks. Then we have to get to the issues...for one, we have tons of little, unnecessary changes to the story and dialogue. They change Bojack to having been trapped in a star and not a planet, and call him a "Genocide Hound" or something like that, and say he was trying to destory all Galaxies in some "Domidia" sector? That was completely made up. Lots of Bojacks Dialogue is altered in strange ways as well...but the Voice actor Choice for him was a solid one, as well as all of his underlings. However, from the moment Goku teleports and punches Goku until Gohan collapses from defeating Bojack is among the worst Dub sequences I have ever seen. They put in this stupid...wierd sounding grungy music and totally destroy Goku and Gohan's lines, even more than I'd expect from them. Other than the ending sequence, the Music was done pretty well. I guess that's all.

I rate the Funi Dub of this movie 4 out of 10 (Note that this is a rating of the quality of the dub compared to the original, and not a rating of the actual movie.)

Special Thanks
to Funimation for releasing the DVD uncut with Full Japanese Audio track & Steven J. Simmons for his fantastic Subtitle work.
